Quick Guide for Wireless Settings

FeatureDetails
2.4 GHz Wireless This frequency bit older is used my most devices, it can penetrate thick walls, metallic objects and other potential obstacles more easily. However, it can be slower than 5 GHz.
5 GHz Wireless This frequency is newer and faster as it can transport significantly larger volumes of data due to its greater number of available channels. However, 5 GHz has a shorter range then 2.4 GHz
Band Steering This feature is disabled by default in Swoop modems, so you have the flexibility of connection to the correct band as per your requirement.

Band steering merge your 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi band into a single network. Once it’s enabled your modem will decide which network (2.4 or 5) your device connects to.
