Generic – NBN Fibre to the Curb Setup

Modem Setup with Swoop
In most cases, your modem should automatically get configured with Swoop, because to make it easier for our customers we support both IPoE (Dynamic) and Flexible PPPoE connection for NBN services. As long as your modem is in either of those modes, it should just work (regardless of PPPoE username and password stored in your modem).

However, if automatic setup didn’t not work you, please follow below modem setup instructions.

1. Locate your Phone Socket

There are 2 types of Phone socket

  • Normal Phone Socket
  • Older Style Phone socket (You may need a modular adaptor, if it’s not present in your home)

Please note, FTTN/B does not require any filter

2. Connecting NBN Connection Box

Connect you NBN connection box (NCD) to the phone socket on the wall.

One end of the phone cable goes to the Wall Socket port on your NBN box and other end goes to your phone socket.

Please note, It is recommended to use normal 1m long cable, longer cable can cause problems.

3. Ensure your NBN box have Sync

You can confirm this by checking the DSL lights status on your NBN Connection Box. It must be Blue. It can take up to 10 minutes to get connection.

If the DSL light on NBN connection box (NTD) is off, please contact Swoop on 1300 66 55 75 for further assistance.

4. Connecting your Modem

Ensure your modem is powered on. Connect your modem using an Ethernet cable to the GATEWAY port of your NBN box.

One end of the Ethernet cable goes to the WAN or Internet port on your modem and other end goes to the GATEWAY port on your NBN box (see picture below for reference)
