Closing the gender pay gap at Swoop

Employer statement on Gender Pay Gap: Swoop Telecommunications

A message from Sherene Shridhar, Chief People Officer.

As the Chief People Officer at Swoop Telecommunications, I take our commitment to gender equality personally. Our recent gender pay gap analysis, showing a median pay gap of 11.8%, has provided us with valuable insights. Compared to the industry comparison group average of 23.5%, it’s clear that while we are ahead of the curve, there is still significant work to be done. This disparity highlights the broader industry challenges and emphasises the importance of our targeted actions in this area. We are not just looking to bridge the gap within our organisation but also to set a benchmark in our industry.

To address these disparities and foster a more inclusive workplace, we are introducing comprehensive measures, including a robust parental leave policy this year and, continuing to offer flexible working options, to support our diverse workforce. Our commitment is reflected in our strategies to enhance gender representation across all levels of our company, particularly in key management positions where we aim to lead by example.

By conducting regular pay equity audits and promoting leadership development programs tailored for women, we are actively working towards not just closing the gender pay gap but also creating a culture where diversity and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do. It’s a journey we are committed to, for the benefit of our employees, our company, and the wider industry.

We acknowledge the challenges ahead but are invigorated by the progress we’ve already made and the strategies we have in place. This is about continuous improvement, reflection, and action. I am personally committed to leading these efforts, ensuring that our values of diversity, equity, and inclusion are more than just words—they are the principles that guide our path forward.

With sincerity and commitment,

Sherene Shridhar
