nbn® rollout QLD
The first stage of the nbn® rollout Queensland took place when premises in Townsville were connected in late 2011. In 2022, Burleigh Waters, Gilston, Highland Park, Mudgeeraba, Robina, Varsity Lakes, and Worongary were the first locations in the state to upgrade to FTTP.
Today, more than 64% of Queensland’s fixed-line households and small businesses now have access to the fastest residential speeds, and that will increase to nearly 90% by 2025.
If your home or business is eligible for FTTP but you haven’t already been upgraded, it’s easy to trigger an upgrade. Simply place an order for one of our three highest nbn® speed tier plans and we’ll sort the rest.
QLD nbn® Business Fibre Zones
NBN Co’s Business Fibre Initiative was created to support innovation, productivity and growth for Australian businesses.
Part of this plan involves the creation of nbn® Business Fibre Zones across Australia – including all over Queensland. Businesses within these zones have access to Enterprise Ethernet, which is the fastest and most reliable business-grade fibre.

2 simple steps to connect!

Step 2: Get connected!
If your nbn® is already connected, it will be a simple matter of our Aussie customer service team provisioning your connection. The time required depends on your service type; it can be done within a few hours for FTTP households! Plug your new Swoop Broadband router into the data point (or set up your existing router) and enjoy life in the fast lane!
Installation step (if Required).
Some locations require an nbn® technician to come and finalise the connection before we can switch you on. If this is the case, you’ll book a time slot that works for you. Once the work is complete, you’ll be ready to go!
Most of the Queensland coastline and many of the larger cities and towns have access to nbn®, while smaller towns and rural areas might be limited to Fixed Wireless.
